40th Annual Lions Day with the United Nations "Working Together Globally to Combat Diabetes&quo
The need to combat diabetes is one the main area of concern of Lions Club International. With the sincere dedication of District Governor Marlan Manguba to her role as an advocate in fighting diabetes, she attended the 40th Lions Day with the United Nations: "Working Together Globally to Combat Diabetes." held on March 24, 2018 at the Prestigious General Assembly Hall, UN Headquarters, New York City, New York, USA.
Nearly 850 Lions and Leos from 26 countries wherein one of them, and the only representative from the Philippines was our very own District Governor Marlan from our Magdalo Club.
The event commemorate the long standing relationship of Lions Club International as a consultative NGO to the United Nations starting in 1945 when Lions leaders were asked to help develop the NGO charter for UN.
According to Governor Marlan Manguba her participation in this event gave her more understanding of the depth of Lions commitment and dedication to service for the world. It made her even more proud to be part of this organization, being the biggest in the world organization, the Lions Club.
