Back in 2011, the Magdalo Lions Club in cooperation with the Himeji Rojyo Lions Club in Hyogo Japan and the Makati Golden Lions Club in the Philippines, constructed a two-storey two classroom building for the Binakayan Elementary School. After six years since the completion of the project, the Magdalo Lions Club came in for an official visit to see any updates, maintenance and repair issues that could be addressed.
Some of the expected repairs and update to be done to the building include: electrical wiring, window, balcony railing, repainting, plumbing and even the addition of steel gates for both classrooms.
The Magdalo Lions Club initially went to the Binakayan Elementary School to look for potential candidates for the Peace Poster Contest and the members saw the state that the building was in. It was then decided that the said repairs, maintenance and upgrades would be done for the longevity and preservation of the Legacy Project. An official visit with Principal 3 Imelda R. Encabo so that the rooms, being occupied by Grade 2 and Grade 5 classes, could be inspected closer.
The repairs and upgrades are scheduled to be started in October and expected to last one month long.
