The Magdalo Lions Club conducted a whole day project centered around livelihood assistance to one family from Barangay Batong Dalig in Kawit, Cavite last July 22, 2017. The de Ocampo family, led by Ronaldo and Concepcion, has 14 children with the oldest being 28 years old and the youngest at just one year old. The couple also has six grandchildren ranging from five years old and one year old.
The club decided to dedicate this project to them to give them a little head start on life. They were given some basic resources to be able to focus on finding jobs. The family was given one sack of rice, one long table, four chairs, water and water container. The littler members of the family were able to get a bit more treats like t-shirts, books and coloring materials.
The day started with a story telling and art activity for the little kids, followed by a quick lesson on hand washing. There was also a feeding program integrated into the project so everybody was well fed before a personalized family planning and counseling session was conducted by Dr. Restituto Enriquez. The program was rounded by job offers for some of the members of the family.
