Book Donation to Schools in Kawit, Cavite and Las Pinas

The Magdalo Lions Club conducted a book donation to two schools in Kawit, Cavite and one in Las Pinas last July 12, 2017. The two schools are the Binakayan National High School and the Florante Ilano Memorial Elementary School in Barangay Pulburista and Pilar Elementary School is located in Las Pinas.
The event started at around 9:00am with a visit to the high school. The Magdalo Lions Club and some members of the Leo Club of Magdalo delivered the books to the school's principal, Ms Flormina P. Aura, PhD. The books, a mix of second hand and new books were mostly donated by Magdalo's own club members.
Following the high school donation, the club members transferred to the elementary school to donate the school's very first set of encyclopedias since the school's founding 20 years ago in 1998. The club was able to donate two sets and they was received, along with other references, by the principal, Ms. Joy J. Garcia.
The donation to the Pilar Elementary School in Las Pinas consisted of 70 books with an estimated amount of PhP56,000 and all books were imported from Singapore.
This club activity was spearheaded by Immediate Past President and Zone 1 Chairperson of Region 3 as well as the Chairperson for the Magdalo Club Membership, Julieta Manguba. The Magdalo Lions Club also made a similar donation to both schools last year.
